Rules and Expectations
As I wrote I already stated, one of my goals as a teacher is creating a positive classroom atmoshpere where students will thrive and develop a love for learning. Any given classroom includes a diverse representation of interests, learning styles, and cultures. In order for all students to feel comfortable to take risks and participate in the classroom, it is extrememly important to build trusting relationships that will encourage students along in the learning process. Trust relationships are made when students respect themselves, respect others, and respect school property. I will begin the year with these three rules, as a class we will discuss what respectful behavior is and develop these rules further to include specific examples of how to be respectful in the classroom. In order to ensure that students have a clear understanding of the rules they will be posted in the classroom. We will also take time at the beginning of the year to role play some of the scenarious and specific examples that were discussed.
